SERVING LAPEER AND NORTH OAKLAND COUNTIES SINCE 1973

I started in the real estate business in December 1973.  Encouraged early on to get involved with professional people in the business I joined the Lapeer (LAR) Michigan (MAR), & National (NAR) Association of REALTORS.

LAR, MAR, & NAR are organizations of real estate practitioners and persons in related businesses who have voluntarily come together to elevate the overall professionalism of the real estate business.  They agree to abide by a strict Code of Ethics, they are involved in the legislative process defending Private Property rights for everybody, and at the local level they are the main providers of multiple listing services that advertise real estate opportunities to fellow real estate agents.

Realizing this is a serious business, that real estate agents assist people in one of the most serious investment decisions they will ever make, my becoming actively involved with the REALTOR associations was a smart thing to do.

Working with and just being around people who are dedicated to their profession has been a wonderful experience. 

I served on the Lapeer Association of REALTORS Board of Directors for over 18 years (1977-1995) & on the Michigan Association of REALTORS Board of Directors (1992-1995) representing 7 local associations of REALTORS (Bay, Saginaw, Midland, Shiawassee, Flint, Lapeer,& Upper Thumb) and some 23,000 REALTORS state wide.

I have chaired or served on most of the committees in our Lapeer Association.  In 1988 & 1989 I served as President of the Lapeer Association of REALTORS

Close association with fellow REALTORS has been a valuable asset. To be honored by your peers is a great compliment. They selected me as the Lapeer Association's "REALTOR Associate of the Year" in 1978 and as "REALTOR of the Year" in 1990 and in 1996 I was awarded the Lapeer Association's "RAP of the Year" for REALTORS active in politics.

In '92-'93, while a director for the Michigan Association of REALTORS I served on that association's "Task Force on Agency" which resulted in the passage of Michigan's agency disclosure law.

I have received the ABR designation as an "Accredited Buyer Representative" from Real Estate Buyers Agency Council (REBAC).  

I have been a full time agent associated with the same real estate office for all but one year (1980) since 1973. In '89 I acquired my Real Estate Brokers license and am an Associate Broker with that office.
